Respiratory Support Tea: My respiratory support tea has been carefully created using herbs that support the respiratory system. Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) is a respiratory tonic that is a powerful expectorant and demulcent, working to soothe mucus membranes/tissue including the throat and esophagus.
Mullein has a high mucilage content, which works to protect and soothe the respiratory tract.Mullein is also an expectorant, working to help expel mucus from the respiratory tract.
Marshmallow root and slippery elm are also an amazing demulcents, and contain membrane protecting mucilage. Mucilaginous herbs are great for sore throats and irritation of the respiratory tract from coughing.
Lavender is also included in this blend, as it is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, as well as an anti-microbial.
Respiratory Support Tea Use: Pour 16 oz of boiling spring water over 1 tea bag, allow to steep for 10-15 minutes. You can enjoy two uses of one tea bag by enjoying 8oz in the morning and 8oz at night. Tea could be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
